Festival Day 5
Today we got up early (again) to beg for tickets to Fahrenheit 451 and all of us got them!! It might have been the best feeling ever. We celebrated by going to the American Pavilion to rest and eat lunch.
After hanging out for a little while, I got in line 3 1/2 hours early to see Christopher Nolan speak. Other people from the trip showed up a little later, and we were really nervous we wouldn’t get in. Thankfully, after so much waiting, we made it in to see him!! It was such an amazing experience to see one of my favorite directors speak about his work, I’ll never forget it!
We returned to JLP to eat dinner at Wall Street and get ready for the Fahrenheit 451 premier. We arrived back in Cannes a little early and waited in line to walk the red carpet. It was kind of nerve wracking walking in front of all the photographers and seeing yourself on the big screen, but super cool nonetheless!! Once we got into the theater we got to watch the celebrities (Michael B. Jordan and Michael Shannon omg) walk the red carpet on the screen. Then we watched them walk into the theater and take their seats a few rows behind us!
I really enjoyed the film itself! I thought the performances and cinematography were amazing. I haven’t read the book, so I went in with no expectations. Some of the people I was with weren’t as fond of it because they said it was a lot different than the book. Either way I saw Michael B. Jordan and he was beautiful so it was a good night!!!
I wish I could have seen Fahrenheit. Just too late for me. The director is an old friend...
